7 Tahun Restorasi Kemerdekaan Timor Leste 20 May 2002, 7 tahun silam, adalah sebuah hari bersejarah bagi Timor Leste. Di pelataran sakral Taci Tolu, Restorasi kemerdekaan Timor Leste dideklarasikan dan disaksikan oleh ratusan juta penduduk di belahan dunia, dihadiri pemimpin-pemimpin adikuasa dunia seperti Kofi Anan, Bill Clinton, Megawati Soekarno Putra serta deretan lainnya. Dunia menyambut lahirnya negara baru di abad milenium, yang termuda dan yang termiskin, Timor Leste. ya, di sini dan saat itu dunia pun mengakui secara resmi perjuangan pahlawan-pahlawan beserta martir-martir yang mengorbangkan segalanya; darah yang tertumpah, air mata yang mengalir, keringat yang terkucur serta nyawa-nyawa yang melayang tanpa mengenal dosanya. Saat itu, tujuh tahun lalu, di pelataran suci Taci Tolu, tanah yang diberkati oleh Paus Yahones Paulus II, situasi haru berlinang air mata gembira tak terelakkan. Ratusan ribu rakyat Timor Leste, yang telah sekian tahun mendambakan saa-saat bersejarah ini meluapakan kegembiraan dalam jeritan bahagia sembari mendoakan mereka yang telah berpulang menjadi martir dalam perjuangan kemerdekaan ini. Benar, Kemerdekaan Timor Leste bukan atas kebaiakn hati seorang Habibi tetapi atas dasar perjuandan dua dekade, suatu kemenangan dengan darah yang menumpahi tanah sakral ini serta tulang belulang para martir yang gagah berani demi sebuah kebebasan dan kebahagiaan masa depan anak cucu. 7 tahun telah berlalu, hari demi hari Timor Leste membangun basis sebuah negara merdeka, menyusun undang-undang dasar, menyelenggarakan pemilihan umum memilih kepala negara dan perwakilan rakyat serta membangun suatu pemerintahan dengan segala keterbatasan dan kekurangan yang terbentang luas ke depan. Tahap demi tahap, sedikit demi sedikit Timor Leste terus mealngkah dan melangkah, walau di sana sini terjadi ujian dan cobaan yang tak ringan tetapi semua itu tak lagi seberat dua dekade yang telah lalu dalam proses perjuangan merebut kemerdekaan ini. Benar, bahwa ada saja pemimpin yang hanya memikirkan kekayaan pribadi, keluarga dan kelompoknya, ada saja pemimpin yang terus menciptakan kontroversial di sana sini, ada saja pemimpin yang bergaya kekanak-kanakan dalam pernyataan-pernyataan, toh Timor Leste harus tetap melangkah ke depan. Usia 7 tahun bila dianalogikan sebagai seorang bayi maka dia baru bisa belajar ABC, perjalanan masih panjang disertai tantangan yang tak ringan dalam dunia globalisasi. Pemimpin-pemimpin Timor Leste yang arogan, kekanak-kanakan, kontroversial serta yang berwatak kuno (1975) harus segera disingkirkan dari kekuasaan dan diberi penghargaan kehormataan atas jasa-jasa mereka yang tentu tak sedikit dalam memerdekakan negara ini. Bagaimanapun, kawula muda masih membutuhkan pemimpin-pemimpun golongan tua yang berpikiran modern dan up to date demi memajukan negara ini dan mengkaderisasi kawula muda demi keberlangsungan masa depan negara muda ini. Timor Leste bisa menjadi sebuah kekuatan yang diperhitungkan di kawasan ASEAN maupun ASIA bila ada persamaan visi dan misi dalam membangun negara ini. Kepadatan penduduk sekitar 1 juta jiwa dengan kekayaan alam yang memadai, sumber daya manusia yang secukupnya, bukan suatu yang mustahil bahwa dalam jangka waktu 10 -15 tahun kemudian Timor Leste akan tumbuh menjadi sebuah negara yang kuat dalam hal pertahanan dan keamanan, ekonomi, budaya, sosial masyarakat serta pembangunan infrastruktur yang aman bagi investor-investor dalam dan luar negeri. Di sini, peran orang muda sangat dibutuhkan. Kreativitas dalam memanage waktu untuk meningkatkan skill dan kapasitas pribadi, terus maju dalam mempelajari hal-hal baru yang relevan; perkembangan dunia teknologi yang kian hari kian canggi, perkembangan politik dunia yang kian kompleks, perkembangan ilmu pengetahun dengan penemuan-penemuan baru, dan perkembangan-perkembangan lain yang mungkin relevan untuk memajukan Timor Leste di tahun-tahjun mendatang. Zela, banyak orang salah sangka, kalo kamu cuman anak ingusan yang tak tahu menahu, banyak yang lain mengira kamu cuman seorang gadis belia yang tentu belum matang, banyak pula yang mungkin meremehkan kamu, tetapi ada sedikit orang, yang juga tergolong orang elit (baik di UN agency maupun di level pemerintahan RDTL), melihat sesuatu yang beda pada dirimu. Zela, yang memulai career sebagai seorang cleaner pada masa UNTAET, mungkin banyak orang tidak tahu, tetapi Zela sebagai seorang Senior Executive Assistant, bukan asing bagi semua UN Agencies di Dili dan semua Departemen Pemerintahan RDTL. But what is more painful is to love someone and never find the courage to let that person know how you feel, and then regret it. 2. Maybe God wants us to meet a few wrong people before meeting the right one so that when we finally meet the right person; we will know how to be grateful for that gift. 3. Love is when you take away the feeling, the passion, and the romance in a relationship, and find out that you still care for that person. 4. A sad thing in life is, you meet someone who means a lot to you, only to find out in the end that it was never meant to be, and you just have to let go. 5. When the door of happiness closes, another opens. But often times we look so long at the closed door that we do not see the one which has been opened for us. 6. The best kind of friend is the kind whom you can sit on a porch and swing with, never say a word, and then walk away feeling like it was the best conversation you have ever had. 7. It is true that we do not know what we have until we lose it, but it is also true that we do not know what we have been missing until it arrives. 8. Giving someone all your love is never an assurance that they will love you back. Do not expect love in return; just wait for it to grow in their heart. But if it does not, be content that it grew in yours. 9. There are things you would love to hear that you would never hear from the person whom you would like to hear them from; but do not be so deaf as not to hear it from the one who says it from his heart. 10.
